BAC's home is a magnificent Grade II* listed building designed by the renowned architect E.M. Mountford, opened in 1893 as Battersea Town Hall. Since 1981 Battersea Arts Centre has been establishing a reputation as one of the UK's most innovative and exciting theatres as well as venue for a wide range of events.
The Grand Hall is the largest of our spaces and lives up to its name. Its lavishly decorated vaulted ceiling and imposing stage create an impressive impact for larger events, from conferences to weddings. On arrival guests enter a beautiful glass domed foyer with adjacent private bar – the perfect space for lunchtime refreshments or a pre-dinner drinks reception. For smaller functions our Lower Hall is an elegant and airy space with self-contained cloakroom and kitchen facilities - perfect for seminars, workshops or parties. Both spaces are licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships.
2008 has seen the opening up and renovation of a number of new spaces within BAC which are now available for hire. These range from sizeable white box studios, with wooden floors and natural light, to more intimate and unusual spaces for meetings or drinks receptions with a difference.
Whichever space best suits your needs we are able to provide the support to ensure your event runs smoothly and professionally. Our in-house technical team are able to apply their theatrical expertise to creatively design your lighting, sound and AV solutions. And our catering team can accommodate any occasion, from canapés to a sit-down three course meal, with all food freshly prepared onsite. If it's flexibility you're after then we are more than happy for you to bring in your own caterers and alcohol, as well as decorating the space however you wish. Or if you'd rather leave it to us, we can event manage throughout the planning stages and on the day itself.
BAC is just 5 minutes walk from the public transport hub of Clapham Junction and there is onsite parking for up to 30 cars on our own private road.
