The Langham, London

The Langham, London has been delighting guests with enchanting hospitality since she opened as Europe's first grand hotel in 1865. Now The Langham, London has completed an exciting transformation to re-capture her past splendour, exuding a graceful and timeless elegance, blending a sense of the past with the style of today.

Throughout its long and illustrious history, The Langham, London has hosted countless luminaries, including Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Prime Minister Gladstone and Napoleon III. As immortalised in the books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Langham, London set the scene for many a Sherlock Holmes mystery. The grand hotel also soldiered through two World Wars, surviving the London Blitz that destroyed the West Wing and damaged the rooftop water tank, flooding the entire building.

What wonders have been unveiled here, what celebrations have been experienced in The Langham's long and illustrious history of hosting lavish events since 1865. Today the Grand Ballroom has been lovingly restored, the sparkling crystal chandeliers and delicate period details echo its rich heritage. Yet you will be impressed by The Langham's talent to cater to modern business needs, affording you seamless service, anticipating every requirement with flexibility and flair, skills honed with service that has spanned three centuries. From intimate gatherings in the charming Private Carriage Rooms or state-of-the-art Meetings Rooms to extravagant banquets, The Langham promises to create a magical occasion that will be talked of for time to come.

Here, guests can relax in utter peace in the luxurious and exquisitely appointed guest rooms which evoke a warm residential feel. Choose from newly designed Grand rooms in a modern classic style with lavish furnishings and fabrics, or a traditionally styled Classic room. For extra comfort, The Langham Club is an exclusive and peaceful oasis of just 47 rooms and suites. Privileges include access to the club lounges which serve complimentary continental breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés. For the ultimate escape, there is the Infinity Suite: 236 square metres of shameless extravagance with a mahogany four poster bed and a chandelier in the drawing room. The grand suite also boasts an infinity bath—a decadently oversized tub-within-a-tub of circulating water that constantly cascades over its sides.

The Langham Health & Fitness Club features a state-of-the-art gymnasium, 16 meter swimming pool, men and women's saunas, steam rooms and solarium. A luxury new Chuan Spa is planned to captivate your senses and provide a serene haven to re-balance and revitalize.

Celebrity designer David Collins and his team have re-created The Langham's original ballroom to form one of London's top dining concepts. Special features include an atmospheric vaulted wine corridor, where the restaurant's extensive world-class wine collection is displayed. The restaurant offers a Contemporary European menu using the best British ingredients with a few surprising twists. Artesian, is the chic and deeply glamorous cocktail bar, also designed by David Collins Studio. The bar has been transformed with stunning interiors that combine exotic Orientalism with the romance of new nostalgia and contemporary touches. With over 50 varieties, Artesian specialises in rum as well as offering a fantastic list of cocktails, spirits and champagnes.
